Event Commemorating International Day of Peace

The United Nations has designated September 21 every year as International Day of Peace, and as a global day of ceasefire and non-violence, has called for the suspension of hostile activities on this day.
On International Day of Peace last year, this Foundation held a commemorative event.
At midday, a moment's of silence was observed at the Cenotaph for the A-bomb Victims to pray for the abolition of nuclear weapons and perpetual world peace,
at the same time raising a Mayors for Peace banner that read "Total Abolition of Nuclear Weapons by 2020".
Thanks to calls by Mayors for Peace, similar commemorative events were held in other member cities.
