29th Children's Peace Drawings Competition

In January 2015, the awards ceremony and exhibition of works for the 29th Children's Peace Drawings Competition were held at the Former Bank of Japan Hiroshima Branch. This competition has been held since 1986, with the aim of heightening children's awareness of the importance of peace.
There were 4,078 works sent in from 123 elementary and junior high schools in Hiroshima City, and 178 works from 5 countries (Australia, India, Iran, Russia, United States), for a total of 4,256 works.
The exhibition was held from the 6th to 14th, with a total of 102 works on display —3 Award of Excellence works, 39 Award of Distinction winning works, and 60 Award of Merit winning works.
The awards ceremony on the 11th was attended by 33 of those who won Excellence and Distinction Awards and their parents, and the winners received an award certificate and a commemorative plaque.
The names and the drawings of those who won the Excellence and Distinction Awards, and the names of those who won the Award of Merit, can be viewed in the "Kid's Peace Station" section of the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum web site
