The City of Hiroshima set up Sister/Friendship City Days for each of its six international sister/friendship cities and established the Hiroshima Messengers program, recruiting citizens (2 persons for each sister/friendship city, 12 persons in total) to take on planning and emceeing roles to assist in these commemorative events.
