The number of Youth Peace Volunteers who guide foreign visitors to the Peace Memorial Park and communicate the realities of the atomic bombing in English has been increasing year by year, reaching a record high of 133 participants this year.
Last year, they guided tourists who visited Peace Memorial Park, as well as ambassadors from various countries and representatives of international organizations who came to Hiroshima to attend the Peace Memorial Ceremony, and overseas university students who came for peace studies.

Visitors commented, "Being guided to places like the Atomic Bomb Dome and the memorial monuments in Peace Memorial Park gave me a sense of reality and changed the way I think," and "It was meaningful to be able to exchange opinions and interact with young people about peace while being guided. I believe this interaction will lead to peace.”
On the other hand, these activities are also very significant for the youth of Hiroshima as a form of peace education.
We would like to further enhance Youth Peace Volunteers so that children can continue to participate in this activity and that this will lead to the development of human resources related to peace.
