International Exchange Lounge & Library Corner
At the International Exchange Lounge on the first floor of International Conference Center Hiroshima, staff provide information in Japanese and English on international exchange and cooperation, as well as information that is useful for daily life as a foreign resident. Using the 'trio-phone service' (3-way telephone calls), information can also be provided in languages other than English with the support of volunteer interpreters.
At the Lounge there is also a space for reading overseas newspapers and magazines, browsing or borrowing books, and studying or holding gatherings. With free Internet, the services provided are available for anyone to use.
Back issues of newspapers and magazines are also distributed free of charge (twice a year), there is free distribution of books and materials that have been removed from the library (once a year), and events are also held, such as the JICA Salon (4 times a year), where previous JICA volunteers speak about the attractions of the countries they were dispatched to.
At the consultation section for foreign residents set up adjacent to the Lounge, consultations on daily life issues and concerns are provided in Chinese, Portuguese, and Spanish.
Please feel free to use this service.
