20th Anniversary of Montreal and Hiroshima Sister City Relationship

This year marks the 20th anniversary of Hiroshima City’s sister city relationship with Montreal City. As part of the cerebration for the 20th anniversary, the following event will be held.

Seeking Financial Supporters for the Hiroshima Minato Yume Fireworks Festival 

The Hiroshima Minato Yume Fireworks Festival will be held at Hiroshima Ko (Port) on Saturday, July 28. The Executive Committee will accept donations from Friday, June 1 to Thursday, June 7. Those who give financial support to the Festival will be provided with a special viewing space.

【Financial Support Amount】

Type A ¥18,000 Space for six people 450 applications will be accepted.
Type B ¥8,400 Bench for three people 905 applications will be accepted.
Type C ¥2,400 Lawn seat for one person 3,500 applications will be accepted.
Type D ¥600 Space for one person (Foreign Trade Zone) 4,000 applications will be accepted.

Up to 2 space allotments and benches may be awarded to a donor for Types A and B, and up to 15 seats and space allotments may be awarded to donors for seating Types C or D. For details, including the donation procedure, please contact the Executive Committee.

Send an ofuku-hagaki (return postcard) with applicant’s name, age, address, telephone number, the event name (“Hiroshima Yume Hanabitaikai”), Type A, B, C or D and number of the allotments you want to apply for and how you would like to receive the ticket (you can receive the ticket by mail or through a ticketing machine in a Seven-Eleven convenience store) to the ticket office (Rakuten Crimson House 1-14-1 Tamagawa, Setagaya-ku, Tokyo 1580094) between Friday, June 1 and Thursday, June 7. If you need to use a stroller or wheelchair, please clearly state so. You can also apply online. Limited to one application per person for one type of financial support (type A, B, C or D) only. Prepare a bag of emergency supplies

Prepare a bag of emergency supplies and necessities including a flashlight, a radio, medicines, a medical diary, food and water. Do not forget to check regularly the expiration date for food and water.

Correct information quickly

Bosai Joho Mail is an emergency information mailing service provided by Hiroshima City in Japanese. Prior registration is needed. Send a blank e-mail message to [entry@k-bousai.city.hiroshima.jp] to register. Television broadcasts also provide meteorological information about your residential area.

Talk with your family

Do a practice walk with your family along your chosen evacuation route to your evacuation area. Make sure to know how to confirm your family members’ safety.

Practice emergency response actions through disaster drills.

Check and maintain your drainage facilities.
