For Kokumin Kenko Hoken Holders, Payment Limit Plan for Medical Expenses

National Health Insurance Cards (Kokumin Kenko Hoken Sho) will be renewed

Current Insurance Cards will become invalid on Tuesday, July 31, 2018. A new card will be sent to holders by mail from Friday, July 20.

Certification for Payment Limit Plan (Gendogaku Tekiyo Nintei-sho)

For people younger than age 70 who are insured with National Health Insurance (Kokumin Kenko Hoken) and have acquired a certificate for this payment limit plan, payment limits for medical expenses may be applicable. If those people and their family members, including members who are over age 70, are exempt from municipal residential tax (Shiminzei), other expenses including meal expenses incurred during hospitalization may be reduced. Please inquire at your local ward office for details including this year’s application procedures and qualifications.

Current enrollment in this payment limit plan will expire on Tuesday, July 31, 2018. If you want to continue to use this payment limit plan, you must re-apply for it by the end of August. You may be requested to report your municipal residents tax situation.

Go to your local ward office or branch office with your National Health Insurance card (Hoken Sho), personal seal (inkan), Individual Number and ID.

Special Payment System of National Pension Premiums

For national pension premiums, there is a special payment deferral system for people having financial difficulties paying their pension payments. Consult with your local ward office (Hoken Nenkin Ka (National Insurance & Pension Division)) or branch office if you are having such difficulties.

Go to your local ward office or branch office with your pension book (Nenkin Techo), your personal seal (inkan), and ID (includes student ID).

Blood Donation Centers in Hiroshima City

There are two blood donation centers (“Kenketsu Room” in Japanese) in the city, which are open all-year round. It takes about 15 minutes to donate 400 ml of blood.
