Municipal Sports Facilities Free Admission on October 8 (Sports Day)

ADMISSION FREE on October 8 at the following sports facilities:

  • Ward Sports Centers (Higashi-ku and Aki-ku swimming pools are closed)
  • Yoshijima, Shinonome and Dejima Indoor Swimming Pools
  • Ujina and Yuki Taiikukan (Gymnasium)
  • Kurhaus Yunoyama (A service fee (50 yen) is required for people age 12 and older. Towel rental service is not available on the day.)

Minimum Wage in Hiroshima Prefecture Will Change from October 1

Hiroshima Prefecture’s minimum wage will increase to 844 yen per hour. This applies to all workers regardless of age, gender and employment system.

Child Allowance (Jido Fuyo Teate) Has Been Expanded

Annual earnings limit for Full-paid Child Allowance (Jido Fuyo Teate) has been expanded as follows:

*The number of dependent family member(s) is determined according to income tax law.

**There is no change in the annual earnings limit for partially-paid Child Allowance.

From November, 2019, the allowance will be paid 6 times a year, in January, March, May, July, September and November. The allowance for the 3 months from August 2019 to October 2019 will be paid in November 2019. The allowance will be paid every two months from January 2020. Accordingly, the amount of allowance for the 15 months, from August 2018 to October 2019 will be determined based on the annual earnings of 2017. Please note that you must file a current status report (Genkyo Todoke) to receive the allowance. There is no change to the report form.

From August 2018, unmarried single parents who have dependent children can receive deductions from income tax by filing proof. The amount of allowance might not be changed even if you file the proof and receive the deduction.
