Prefectural Housing Available

Qualification guidelines and application forms are available at the Jutaku Ka (Housing Division) of the Hiroshima Prefectural Government Office (10-52 Moto-machi, Naka-ku) and Kenchiku Ka (Architectural Division) of your local ward office. Applications must be submitted between Tuesday, October 23 and Thursday, October 25. Please apply at the Ken Biru Maintenance Kyodo Kumiai (Tel. 261-7907), or at your local ward office’s Kenchiku Ka in person. Applications for Dai-ni Kamiyasu Housing will be accepted at Godo Sangyo Kabushiki Gaisha (Tel. 245-2333).

Seeking "Hiroshima Messengers"

Hiroshima Messengers plan and organize sister/friendship city day events. If you or someone you know is interested in promoting friendship with one of the six sister/friendship cities, applications are now available. 2 persons for each city, 12 people in total, will be selected.

WHO:
Those who meet all of the following conditions.
  • Those who are 18 years old or older (as of January 1, 2019) and live, work, or go to school in Hiroshima City
  • Those who will be able to participate in their chosen city’s activities held between January and December 2019
  • Those who will be able to participate in the training seminars for about 6 hours, one day, in total that will be held around mid-February 2019
  • Applicants originating from overseas must be capable of communicating in Japanese

Free Counseling for Mental Health

A face to face consultation on mental health issues with a psychiatrist is available. Telephone counseling (Tel. 221-1051) will also be available. Consultation will be available in Japanese only. Please bring a Japanese speaking person if necessary.

Night-time Emergency Centers

The Senda-machi & Kabe Night-time Emergency Centers (Yakan Kyubyo Center) accept night-time patients with minor symptoms. Patients with minor symptoms may often experience long waiting times at general hospitals as they are intended to provide medical care to patients with severe injuries and symptoms. Therefore, if you have minor symptoms such as fever, stomach ache or coughing at night, please stop at either the Senda-machi or Kabe Night-time Emergency Center.

NOTE:
  • You will receive emergency medical care and a day’s worth of prescriptions.
  • Please go to see your family doctor the following day.
  • If you need to undergo an examination or be hospitalized, the center will refer you to another clinic or hospital.
  • Parking is available. (You cannot to come to the center by ambulance service.)

Influenza Vaccination Subsidy

Subsidies for seasonal influenza vaccination will be provided for eligible senior citizens.

ELIGIBILITY:
  • People who are 65 or older
  • People who are 60 to 64 with physical disabilities including heart, kidney or respiratory diseases classified as Physical Disability Certificate Level 1.
¥1,600 for one dose (Only available once)
People who meet one of the above conditions and who receive public welfare payments or exemption of income based municipal tax NOTE: You need to bring documents showing you receive public welfare payments (Hihogosha shomeisho) or a Municipal tax charge record certificate (Shi kenmin zei kazei daicho kisaijiko shomeisho).Free
